Freshwater Characins


Freshwater Characins have oval bodies and their mouths are situated in the midline of the body. Most characin species come from South America and are widely varied in type. Some of these fish have been genetically engineered in the lap to enhance color. Characins include fish species such as the tetras and hatchetfish.
